Here is my Story:

On March 22, 2003 my daughter, Jasmine Payne was nearly killed when she went to answer her granmothers' door. As she opened the door, a young man aimed a 9mm gun at her and shot her in the eye. This is a day i will never forget because there were two unforgettable things that happened. 1)I nearly lost my oldest daughter 2)I witnessed a miracle. She( Jasmine) was taken to the hospital 20 minutes after the shooting and was put on life sustaining support. A Trauma doctor came out to meet with me and the rest of my family to tell us some pretty devastating news. He said that when the bullet hit her in the eye it caused the eye to burst and it also did extensive damage to her right part of her brain. The doctor told us that she probably wouldn't make it thru the night but if we let him perform brain surgery on her she would have a 20% chance of lasting thru the night. I know that that wasn,t much but at that time i was willing to take anything offered that would spare my childs life. So i consented and surgery was performed.Halfway thru the surgery we was told that the bullet had done so much damage that it had severed the main artery in the head and that she had lost nearly 5 units of blood. We also knew that they had to take her right eye and also four pieces of the right half of her brain. She came thru surgery and spent the next three weeks in icu where she amazed everyone with a speedy recovery. You see, we was told she would never talk or walk again. But you know, God was there thru it all because 3weeks and 4 days after the shooting my 13 year old daughter walked out the hospital and went home. She still has a little way to go but each day she gets better and better. One month ago she received an artificial eye and just to see the expression on her face, you would have thought that christmas came early. What i am trying to say is that no matter how bleak your situation may seem, don't give up ,try God. He can make a way out of no way.I've read about the miracles that Jesus performed back in the biblical days but to actually see one before your very eyes is truly awesome indeed.
